Wopad WR701 - 7-inch tablet with a capacitive screen from China

The new year was marked by the appearance in my family of the first “green robot” named Wopad WR701. In short, despite the fact that I had to wait for almost a month (from December 15 to January 13), I am pleased with the acquisition. (many pictures, little text under the cut)

At the very beginning I want to give a few lines to the EMS service. This "office" in the New Year's holidays clearly could not cope with the influx of shipments, but could only recognize this in January. And the whole of December, naive [like me] customers were waiting for a change in the status of the package in the tracker and trying to call the single help desk (which was unrealistic!). To their credit, the company has found the strength to recognize problems and wants to compensate customers for costs ( link ).



Wopad WR701 :

CPU:	RK2818, ARM 600MHz + DSP 550MHz (I do not know what it means and how to understand it, but it is written in the User Manual)
OS:	Android 2.1
Memory:	256 MB DDRII, 2GB Flash

The principle “what’s on the box is in the box” does not work in China. Apparently, therefore, the box shows a device similar to the iPad.


On the side of the box are many beautiful pictures and clever words, not all of which are related to the content.

Additionally a leather case was ordered.


The reverse side is “rough” aluminum.


On one side (on the right) you can find 6 connectors: 1) Slot for miniSD, 2) miniHDMI, 3) 3.5mm audio jack, 4) charging slot, 5) miniUSB, 6) USB Host.


At the top there are 4 buttons: 1) reset, 2) power / suspend, 3) menu, 4) esc / back.



The speakers are on different sides. Somewhere in the same place was a microphone.


The screen and border around glossy (+ protective film), so these reflections. But working with indoor lighting is quite comfortable.
Along with the charging adapter went under our outlet (even did not have to ask).

And as a bonus in the box was a rubber keyboard :-):

There are no creaks, no goals. The reverse side is all-aluminum (with the exception of a black plastic cap for an incomprehensible purpose).
Weight: 370g (+ 110g case)

Ps . In the future, if it is interesting, I will post screenshots of the program filling. So far, one unpleasant cant is seen: the X and Y axes in the g-sensor are interchanged. With this, the screen turns as it should, but it is not possible to play toys! Does anyone know how this can be fixed?

Pps . The first night I buried him. :-) After 5 hours of dating, the device began to show random bands and did not want to respond to the buttons. But in the morning he was resurrected (he changed his mind / got cold :-)) and worked for an 8-hour working day without recharging (and without! Loading).
