And this is not an allegation - on January 13, the National Bank of Ukraine published a
document (pdf) "On the activities of WebMoney Transfer in Ukraine." that nobody interferes with the work of WebMoney Transfer in Ukraine, but the fact remains that the National Bank believes that WMT works in the country without coordination with the relevant authorities (I wonder if this means that WebMoney operation in Ukraine is considered illegal?).
The fact is that according to the Law of Ukraine "On Payment Systems and Remittances in Ukraine", any electronic money and payment systems must coordinate their work with the NBU. Until now, they somehow did not recall this, although WMT has been working for many years in Ukraine, and this year, it seems, something has changed. By the way, such electronic money systems as “Maxi” and “MoneXy” have already coordinated their work with the NBU (I personally have not heard anything about such systems, but what about you?).
')
It is also interesting that none of the banks reported to the NBU about their cooperation with Webmoney, although Privatbank, for example, works the same. At the same time, the WMT company itself claims that it works in Ukraine with several large banks.
In general, at the moment the work of Webmoney in Ukraine, it seems, does not harvest anything. The NBU has limited itself to sending out notifications to banks and financial organizations, which state that these organizations are recommended to inform all their clients about the dangers of working with payment systems whose work is not coordinated with the laws of the country.
But somehow all this looks strange - in fact, WMT, according to the National Bank, works without the knowledge of the government in Ukraine, however, there are no obstacles in the work of WMT yet. Let's hope that goes on like this, since so many companies and individuals work with Webmoney in Ukraine, right? It is difficult to imagine what can happen if Webmoney is suddenly outlawed ...
