At the last CES 2011 exhibition in hot Las Vegas, ASUS presented a lot of different new products, including several tablets. What is really there to hide, now it is a new trend and only at the exhibition more than 80 models of “killers” were presented) ASUS provided the public with 4 different devices in this class - Eee Pad MeMO , Eee Pad Transformer , Eee Pad Slider and Eee Slate EP121 . About each detail, but first look at this video from colleagues in the shop : ')
ASUS Eee EP121 "Slate"
I don’t remember that the words “Intel Core i5” and “ASUS Eee” were ever written together, but the time seems to have come - the ASUS Eee Slate (EP121) tablet claims to be the most productive device in its class. It may not be the most compact, but this is fully explained by the filling, which you will learn about below.
The manufacturer supplied the device with a widescreen 12-inch touch (capacitive) screen based on IPS-matrix - promise large viewing angles (178 degrees) and three ways to enter data. The last item refers directly to the finger that comes with the Bluetooth keyboard ...
... and ... iii ... Wacom pen - everything is fine, Windows 7 is not so well finger-optimized. So, apparently, one of the main tasks of this device is to erase the line between the laptop and the tablet.

ASUS Eee Pad EP101 "Transformer"
Let's not go far from the design that you saw above - in all the new ASUS has a lot in common. "Transformer" was no exception, although it was thinner - now the thickness of the tablet is 12.99 millimeters, and the weight is 680 grams.
The main distinguishing feature of this tablet is that it can be installed on the docking station in the form of a keyboard - in order to make it easier to switch between the “netbook” mode to “surf the web” somewhere on the couch and back. Accordingly, it will be possible to frighten friends, "tearing off" the display from the usual-looking netbook. But besides adding the ability to print more quickly, this “keyboard” does one more useful thing - it increases the battery life of the tablet up to 16 hours!
There are no exact characteristics yet, but the key points are as follows:

The date of commencement of sales is still unknown, but it’s definitely not a long wait. Depending on the configuration, the price will vary in the range of 400 ~ 600 $.
ASUS Eee Pad EP102 "Slider"
The third device, thanks to which you no longer have to decide between the tablet and the traditional netbook. ASUS Eee Pad Slider (EP102) has a minimalistic design, but is a rather complex device - a tablet with a full QWERTY-keyboard, which is pulled out from the bottom, if necessary; It's great that the manufacturer provides such a choice of form factors.
Even with a keyboard and a sufficiently large screen, the weight of the device is less than a kilogram, so that it can be taken anywhere - it will always be more comfortable for a minute to get settled and work. The device will also function on the new version of the Android OS.

ASUS Eee Pad EP71 "MeMO"
Completes the range of new products a kind of "notebook", in many respects similar to their "older" counterparts. At the disposal of new items - a 7-inch screen, a mobile processor from Qualcomm, the Android operating system and two webcams. Entering can also be done using the stylus, but this time there are no slide or wireless keyboards included.
Low weight (less than 400 grams), compact size (fits in one hand), the ability to enter handwritten text (which many other devices lack by default), support for HD video and a relatively small price is a good option for those with PDAs need always and everywhere.

I suggest not to repeat once again and not to write something like “Well, they began to repeat everything for Apple, blah blah blah” - this was all read more than once) Yes, Apple was able to create a product with its product and started to satisfy it first . However, this approach was not liked by all - the iPad has many supporters, but there are also enough opponents. But the fact is obvious - the new class of devices has seriously affected the landscape of the industry, changed and still will change a lot. So, there is nothing surprising in such an activity of producers - everyone is trying to grab a piece of cake. There are many new products, one more interesting than the other - as you can see, almost everywhere there are HDMI / USB connectors for connecting anything, SSD drives and webcams ... yes there are a lot of things that are lacking in apple products. So in the second attempt, Apple will have to make a good effort so that only users are left among the users. Still, people are slowly getting wiser, and now many people simply don’t bite on a beautiful and high-tech toy - give them an inexpensive work tool. In general ... spun-spun - I suggest to stock up on popcorn;)
