Turn HD2 to HD7 - Installation instructions for WP7 on HTC HD2

Have a nice evening, it's me again. Last time we tormented our HD2 with installing Android in NAND-memory. At this time, everything is much more interesting - we will install Windows Phone 7. Before we start, I want to insert at least a couple of words about my own feelings from the new OS.

She is cool. No, she just fucked up. Nothing more convenient, faster and more beautiful, I have not seen. When the iPhone came out in 2007, it didn’t make such an impression on me as WP7 did, despite its not perfect behavior on the phone. If you free your brain from various clichés and “I’m so used to it,” it’s easy to figure out “what and how”. Everything is simple, everything is available, everything is very, very beautiful.

System requirements and preparations are almost the same as those of the NAND-Android firmware:
1. Version of the radio module with support for 576 RAM . ^*
2. Installed HSPL 2.08 , we will not flush without it.
3. Downloaded and unpacked into any empty folder MAGLDR 1.12 (!).
4. Downloaded and unpacked into any empty folder WP7-build. ^**
5. The contents of your flash drive copied to the hard disk - during the installation process it will be formatted .

It is also worth noting that we will not have to flash the original version of the firmware, any will come if only it had HSPL 2.08 and a version of the radio module that supports 576 RAM .

Further - everything is quite simple. If you have already installed Android in NAND - no difficulties are foreseen, just update MAGLDR (stupidly flashing it over the old one, forget how it is done - see the instructions below;) and boldly go into battle. If not - do everything carefully and you will be happy in the form of WP7

1. We connect the phone via activesync or WMDC , using a standard USB-cord, we synchronize.
2. Open the folder where we unpacked the downloaded archive, go to the folder MAGLDR
3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe as administrator
4. Twice we agree to all risks and liability, click "next"

5. Click "update"
6. Check the image that will be stitched (the name should be 2.00.000.0)
7. Click "next" twice
8. The phone will go into bootloader mode and slowly flash.
9. After flashing, the phone will restart itself. The first stage is over.

Actually, part 2, which is slightly different from that in the firmware of the NAND version of Android.

• After a reboot, if you did everything correctly, the phone itself will launch MAGLDR
1. Navigation is carried out using the volume control buttons, as well as “pick up the phone” and “hang up the phone”
2. Having mastered the control, go to Option 5: USB Flasher , then select the item by pressing "pick up" (leftmost button)
3. The phone will go into the firmware mode via cable, install the USB drivers, if there are no / no more
4. (on the computer) Open the folder into which we unpacked WP7 (it is next to MAGLDR), run DWI.exe as administrator
5. Read, agree, click "next"
6. Then everything will go without our participation.

The phone will come to life in about five minutes, after greeting you, it will ask you to enter the date and time settings, enter a pin. Do not enter Windows Live, anyway, so far it works through ... well, it works strangely, in general. There is no Russian language yet, but it is supported. Of the bonuses - the camera writes video 720p, and writes awesome.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot: “Pick up the phone” is the camera button, “Hang up” - turn off the screen, “Back” - back, “House” - search, “Win” - go back to the desktop. And also, for reasons unknown to me, the phone does not know how to work with networks whose SSID is hidden. At the time of the tests need to open access to the network. Alas.

Factory WinMo easily returns to its rightful place, just download the stock firmware, pull the battery, hold down the volume and load the mattress mode. After - flash, as usual, the phone is flashed.

Once again, so that later there were no bricks: do not sew a radio if you are not sure whether it is compatible with your device. And save the contents of the memory card! During the installation of WP7, it will be formatted!
