Introduction of fees for domains in the public zone .DP.UA

On January 10, the company NPP TRAYFL sent out to the registrars of the .DP.UA zone a letter with an offer to conclude an agreement for a paid delegation of a domain name worth UAH 6.00 per year for a domain.

Also, each registrar is obliged to pay for entering information about the registrar into the public domain .DP.UA database and servicing registrar applications in the amount of UAH 260 per year.

As stated in the letter, these rates are introduced from February 1, 2007, registrars are invited to get rid of "extra" domains by January 31.

Note that before this, any business entity of Ukraine with primary and secondary DNS servers could become a registrar. Domain delegation requests were served free of charge. Domain customers were sold domains from UAH 31.80 (Optima) to UAH 63.90 (IMENA.UA) per year.

It is not difficult to predict further developments - in the .DP.UA zone there will be many released domains against the background of criticism by the registrars of the zone administrator - the company NPP TRYFLE LLC.
