China has 850 million mobile subscribers

Every year in China, an increasing part of the population joins the benefits of civilization in the form of the Global Network and mobile communications. As I recall, the number of Internet users in this country is approaching half a billion, which is more than in any other country. Mobile communications in China are even more popular because they are becoming a subject, or rather, a service of prime necessity. Now in China, already 850 million people use mobile communications, and this number continues to increase. Not least this growth is due to the cheapness of mobile phones, the simplest of which cost a few dollars.

Thus, even the poorest segments of the population can afford to buy a mobile phone. In 2010, the number of mobile users increased by 100 million. It is worth noting that, according to information provided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the number of people in this country at the end of 2010 was 1.4 billion. Thus, about 60% of the population of China are mobile subscribers.

Only in December 2010, 7 million people added to the base of mobile subscribers. However, since most of the subscribers are not very well-to-do people, the profits of the cellular providers are not particularly high. But with so many customers and a couple of dollars per month translates into millions and billions in profits. Thus, the revenue of Chinese telecoms in 2010 reached 124 billion dollars. About 70% of this amount is cellular. The remaining 30% is wired infrastructure.

Currently, Chinese mobile and wired communications providers are trying to increase the percentage of communications penetration in the regions as soon as possible. To this end, networks are being deployed, the technical base is being updated, the introduction of broadband data transmission technologies is being carried out. In general, with such a pace, China may soon become the most Internetized and telephony country in the world (if we take by the number of subscribers, and not by the percentage of “connected” to the total population, then China is already number 1).
