Looks like Amazon Web Services (AWS) in capable hands can be a very powerful tool for hacking the most secure wireless networks. In principle, this is understandable, but the other day an expert on network security by the name of Thomas Roth at the Black Hat conference presented to the public the software he had created that was “sharpened” for Amazon Web Services and designed to hack secured WiFi networks. By the way, the WPA-PSK protected Wi-Fi network of the organization’s next to Tom’s company was hacked in 20 minutes.
Tom's rented power on AWS and Elastic Compute Cloud service helped Tom Roth gain access to several secure wireless networks by picking up a key. According to the developer, the performance of the leased facilities on AWS allowed sorting out about 400,000 passwords per second. All this, according to Tom, threatens the security of wireless networks of both individual companies and home users.
Before Tom Roth, several network security experts worked with Amazon EC2 to demonstrate various network security vulnerabilities, but he was the first to be able to show that a WiFi network can be quite easily cracked using such a powerful tool and software.

The expert demonstrated his achievements at the Black Hat conference, which constantly demonstrates unique hacking technologies that were considered impossible.
Before Amazon's clouds appeared, brute-force keys of secured WiFi networks were considered, if not impossible, then a rather complicated and lengthy process. But now, as we see, even a very well-protected WiFi network can be hacked in just 20 minutes (and the wireless network of Tom Roth’s neighbors was very well protected, since its neighbors are also network security specialists).
Tom provided his software and methodology to the participants of the conference and posted it on the Web, claiming that all this was done not to violate the law, but to warn system administrators. Since the release of its software and technology, the hacker has updated the software, and now believes that the WiFi network of medium security can be hacked in about 6 minutes.
