Blinkx, a video explorer who recently
prepared an IPO and very well located in London, announced the imminent launch of an advertising platform that could revolutionize the online video market.
The platform, which will be launched three days later on Monday, is known under the code name Project Trilby, but will officially be called
blinkx AdHoc .
The technology will allow to introduce contextual advertising in any videos to the Internet. Advertising is introduced by keywords from the offscreen text or by the general context of the video. It can be placed in front of the plot, after it, in the middle of the plot, in the form of a marquee or a banner.
Given the amount of video on the modern Internet, the potential of a new advertising platform can be truly enormous. That is why Blinkx shares were
so well received on the London Stock Exchange during the IPO at the end of May.
