With the onset of 2011, the iPhone discovered a problem that caused thousands of people worldwide to suffer - on January 1, the alarm clock stopped working. A flurry of complaints and ironic comments swept the Apple forums.
It is very simple to reproduce the bug - set a regular (not repeating) alarm clock. The problem is confirmed on phones running iOS 4.0.2, 4.1 and 4.2.1. The solution so far is - if you want to get up on time today / tomorrow - use another alarm clock, or set a recurring alarm clock (recurrent). Why today and tomorrow? And here is the most curious thing - the problem disappears itself, from the third of January. At least, so say the users who investigated the problem.
Commentators on the Apple forums claim that this is not a bug but a feature because Steve just likes to sleep a bit longer after the New Year festivities. The official reaction from Apple has not yet arrived.
