According to Dan Heberden, recently, the jQuery server team noticed a significant increase in traffic from sites that have direct links directly to the files on their servers (jquery.com, jqueryui.com, dev.jquery.com, etc. ), instead of uploading them to a hosting or using
CDN 's, for which they were created (Google CDN, Microsoft CDN, etc.). Such dynamics negatively affect the performance of their network and do not allow ordinary users to access jQuery sites during peak hours.
In order to improve the performance and availability of their sites for all users, they turned off the
hotlinking to images of their entire network. They will also disable hotlinking for all other types of content (for example, CSS and JavaScript) at the end of January.
Important! If your site contains direct links to jQuery domains other than code.jquery.com, keep in mind that you must update your site before this date or it will stop functioning normally.
