Revolutionary amendments to the Civil Code approved by the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on the codification and improvement of civil legislation

We continue to follow the fate of our amendments.

At the December 20, 2010 meeting of the Presidential Council on the Codification and Improvement of Civil Legislation, despite the protests of writers, in general , amendments to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, proposed by the Private Law Center, were approved . The decision of the council will be fully published on its website before the new year.

I remind you that the Wikimedia RU (the Russian branch of the Wikimedia Foundation, the owner of Wikipedia) and webpublishers.ru fought for the amendments.

Revolutionary amendments are not so much because they allow libraries to digitize books or relieve providers of responsibility, but rather because they finally eliminate all the rough spots in the way of free licenses and allow to photograph * buildings ** (if you habourer did not know that you do not use your own hands to take a picture of the Ostankino Tower, the main building of Moscow State University, the White House, the Cosmos Hotel or Moscow-City, read here ; just imagine the scale of copyright infringement, as thousands of people across the country are ph They copy various secured buildings and only now the law is being put in order).

But there are problems. You, the habrayuser-tourist, are still forbidden and it will always be forbidden to photograph * the monuments ** that you will see on your journey. No amendments in connection with the monuments are planned, but if you, habrayuzer, collect 50 thousand signatures for changing the situation and send them to Medvedev or to the State Duma, maybe something else will have time to change. For now there will be this absolutely idiotic and contrary to common sense ban. Imagine again the scale of violations of the law throughout the country! Stupid laws should be abolished, and not to force the whole country to violate them!
