Apple plans to release a budget version of the iPhone

Apple has begun developing a low-end version of the iPhone Communicator, the release of "regular" models of which is scheduled for late June 2007. According to Wu, "Apple will have to present a line of cheap products under the iPhone brand (just like it did with the iPod) if it wants to repeat the success of the iPod."
