Recently, for many of us, the phrase “robot humanoid” is associated with Japan and Japanese companies. The same Toyota makes not only cars, but also smart robots. It turns out that the French are not badly embroidered - they created an interesting model of a robot that is able to care for the elderly. Of course, the word "care" in our case has some limitations, but still this robot, named Romeo, really can do a lot. Manufacturer - Aldebaran Robotics.
So, our robot is only 1 meter tall and 40 centimeters, weighs 40 kilograms. The degree of freedom of the robot is 37 degrees, it has a spine, a composite skeleton, plus very functional limbs, the photo shows that the robot does not just have palms, but real fingers consisting of several phalanxes.

The robot communicates with the owner using both normal speech and gestures. Yes, the robot not only speaks, but also recognizes speech. You can ask him, for example, to go to the kitchen, throw garbage in the trash, or bring a cup of water. Honestly, there is no information about whether the robot can pour water into this cup itself, but I think that the manufacturers have taken care of such a function.
By the way, all computer scientists should especially like the separate function of our robot - he knows how to bring food from the kitchen. Again, it is not entirely clear whether the food should lie on the table, or the robot can get it out of the refrigerator, however, the function is stated, so one can hope that it is real.
True, this robot costs so much that an elderly person can hire a nurse for many years - the price of the robot is 330 thousand (!) US dollars. This is probably the biggest minus model.
