App Inventor is now available to all

In July, we introduced App Inventor for Android — a Google Labs experiment that makes it easier for people to access the capabilities of their Android phones and create applications for their personal use. We were delighted (and, frankly, a bit overwhelmed!) The emerging interest. We were even more excited to hear stories about what you do with App Inventor. A variety of people (teachers and students, parents and children, amateur programmers and novices in programming) created Android applications that perfectly matched their needs.

For example, we heard about people creating dictionaries for their children, SMS mailing for events, applications that allow you to track your favorite public transport routes and - our favorite - an application for the offer of a hand and heart .

We are so impressed with the great things people have done in App Inventor that we want as many people as possible to do great things. So we are pleased to announce that the App Inventor beta is now available in Labs to anyone who is registered with Google.
