Venezuelan computer. Have you tried? They decided to create their computer Venezuelan authorities. The project is designed for mass production and the low price of manufactured equipment and is aimed primarily at government needs. However, over time it is planned to organize the sale and for general use. The organization “Inspur Group” based in Hong Kong is connected to the cooperation.
And the prices voiced by the authorities of this South American country are really impressive. Depending on the model and configuration, they range from 405 to 1400 US dollars. According to the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez (Hugo Chavez), analogues of well-known brands are quoted at about 40% more expensive. Plus, the Venezuelan version provides for some additions, in particular, a three-year warranty on the computer, in contrast to the period offered by well-known manufacturers, which is usually three times less. As you can see, the concern for the material condition of their people is evident. This project has one more task - raising the general level of the IT industry in the country.
Will these guys be powerful? The answer is to this question. The personal computer will have an Intel Celeron or P4 processor with a frequency from 1.5 GHz to 3.0 GHz, while the portable computers will be based on 2.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.
By the way, Venezuela is not a pioneer in the use of Linux. Before them, Brazilians, who make extensive use of this operating system, made the same decision. Linux is probably not waiting for Venezuela to fully develop and sell its computers, because in this case cooperation in supplying equipment to neighboring countries will certainly be organized. And then the dream of the president of the same Brazil about creating an “open source continent” will come true.
