Google has launched
a Google Public Policy blog that focuses on US government and regulatory matters.
The new company blog is a step to increase its attention to the US government since the beginning of 2005. Last year, Google was one of the leading Internet companies that asked Congress to maintain the principle of network neutrality, which prohibits Internet providers from blocking and slowing down Internet content from their competitors.
This year, Google joined the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) sale auction with a 60 MHz spectrum auction in the 700 MHz band, which was released by television companies. The search company offered the FCC to open auctions for small businesses through real-time auctions and designate part of the spectrum for wireless broadband video services.
Google also focuses on privacy and copyright issues, as stated in
today's blog entry . In general, the blog was launched two months ago, but it has
become open to the public
only now .

Recently, Google complained to the US Department of Justice that they consider the Windows Vista operating system for antitrust violations.
Google now has eight high-ranking officials and public relations specialists, as well as four support staff in Washington — in early 2005, the company had only one employee in government policy.
