
November 20-21, 2010 HackDay # 8 took place. The event was first held in Yaroslavl. The venue was the 7th building of the Yaroslavl State University. PG Demidov (corpus of informatics and mathematicians).
In total, 50 people took part in the event.
Since the launch and until November 20, 72 participants have been registered on the site.
Until November 20, 8 projects were announced on the site. At the presentation of projects, 7 projects were announced.
On the demofesta 5 projects were demonstrated.

The event included a round table on the following issues.
- Can a startup survive in Yaroslavl? What is the big cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg) to create it here?
- Do I need events like HackDay? How to make the event better?
- Creation of IT-community in the city and region. If necessary? What for? How can a community be helpful?

Projects released on demofest
- Stray desu
Multiplayer online game. The game is a walker in which you can chat, play tower defense together, fight monsters and other players. One of the major achievements of HackDay is the “endless” auto-generated world.
- Jugglingoncanvas
Service for jugglers that implements the sitechap swap notation. The canvas tag (HTML5 standard) renders an animation: a juggler performing a site-swap sequence entered by the user.
- Location-aware ToDo
Mobile application (for Android), which allows you to set the place and the corresponding task. The application itself keeps track of the user's location and at the right moment reminds of the case planned in the current location.
- Rome algorithm
Implementation of an algorithm that minimizes additional time costs for parallel computing (applications for solving a dynamic multiprocessor schedule problem of size N by M, where N is greater than M).
- Guitar battle
A game of the genre of fighting, in which the control takes place using an electric guitar connected to a computer.
Winners and nominees
Winners were determined by voting teams. Each team was given a questionnaire, the teams had the right to vote for any 3 projects, except their own. Also in the voting took part the partners present at the demofest: Tenzor company, SeoPuzzle company (as a representative of UMI Soft company), Yar GTUG, Mikhail Kechinov Studio.
Teams who took the 4th and 5th place received incentive prizes: 3 certificates for annual domains in the zone. RF, certificates in the amount of 2000 rubles. for purchase in shops Figure.
