According to Dev-Team, the iPad uses exactly the same modem as in the iPhone. And this was proved by their experiment. For about two weeks, they used firmware 6.15.00 for their iPad on their iPhones and there were no problems.

But now the most interesting thing is that if you install the modem firmware for the iPad, then you will never be able to use Apple’s official firmware, but only custom firmware. In my opinion, this is not very scary, but before you start unlock you must realize this.

Another Dev-Team mentions a few notes for 3Gs owners. If you have an old bootrom, then you should wait for the official updated software version from Dev-Team. You can find out what your bootrom is here .

Attention! The current unlock method is fully compatible only with iPhone 3G on any firmware and with iPhone 3Gs with the new boot and 4.1 firmware. Once again: iPhone 3Gs on old Butrome with firmware 4.2 is NOT supported at the moment. Dev-Team recommends waiting for an updated version of other software, Redsn0w, which will add support for all 3Gs on the latest iOS.

2. Battery problem for 3Gs. With the new firmware, the charge from the battery ends much faster. Again, the fix is ​​promised.
