Once every two weeks, and sometimes more often, we release updates to the cloud management system. In two weeks, usually, we have time to determine which functionality needs to be launched or improved, implement it, test it, and finally roll it out.
Some time ago, an ajax-console for managing servers appeared, then the ability to reinstall the operating system. But today's update I want to highlight and tell about it separately because of what changes it included. I heard requests to implement them many times, both in Habré from those who are simply interested, and from customers.
UPD : Those who are registered with us on the site can write their own ideas and feature requests
here , in a special section of our user support site. You can also vote for the ideas of other users. If you really need this or that function, freebsd, for example, write ideas and vote :) Thank you in advance for participating and supporting the project.

So, the update included:
- Ability to change the size of the disks. Now you can go to the panel and increase or decrease the size of the disk without restarting the server. These operations are also available in the API;
- A new OS is available: OpenSuSE 11.3. Now you can use: Debian 5.0.6, Ubuntu 10.04, CentOS 5.5 and OpenSuSE 11.3.
There are a number of restrictions on resizing disks:
- The size of the root partition can be changed only for a server that is down;
- Before resizing a disk, you must unmount the corresponding partition;
- After resizing the disk, you need to resize the file system yourself with the command
resize2fs /dev/%partition%
.
Thanks to all those who already use our services, and welcome to those who just want to test them. Let me remind you that after
registering on the site, you can test our services for some time for free.
And for those who follow updates and subscribed to
our twitter , we have a special surprise :)
By the way, what operating system is missing for you? Windows server? FreeBSD? Looking forward to hearing your feedback!
