Behind the “Make Homepage” link on the TUT.BY site I mentioned is the “PDA” link. For example, I will often use the site TUT.BY and not to advertise it, but as an example of a public resource with the highest attendance for Belarus and, as a result, even with some semblance of life.

It must be said that the presentation of the section is implemented incorrectly. I don’t know why the site’s editor took the programmers to work and they did the PDA version of the site, but after that nobody really thought about it: what did the visitors, what did they think when visiting this section?

Suppose that half of the visitors are familiar with the meaning of these three letters. Do not be surprised, the resource is public and not only IT market workers come to it, but also an accountant with lawyers. I am sure that quite a significant part doesn’t know at all where they got by clicking on the “PDA” link. And let about 5% use this resource in their daily lives. (Although I think that the percentage of those who are 'in the know', I still overestimated.)

How to organize such sections? First, you must understand who your visitor is and what he thinks about when visiting your site. After that, you do not need to watch the work of senior comrades.

The first, as is the case with RSS, you must transcribe the term you use. Second, explain on which of the PDAs you guarantee the work of this section and how you can get to the PDA version of the site without visiting the general page.

You should also not post a link to the section at the top of the page. Better somewhere down with links to other 'narrow' services.

If you want to benefit from everything, you can negotiate with the stores and post their new arrivals in this section. Agree with software vendors, you will host links to their products. Thus, with a good attendance of the resource, you can earn a little extra and green y.e.

I looked in my bookmarks whether there is something similar on other sites, the first Kommersant magazine site that has arrived is exactly the same as TUT.BY - the icon and you understand how you want to go where. Fortunately, the second site was already TIME , he is doing well with the PDA.
