Amazon's Best Seller Death Car is licensed under Creative Commons

This happened before with music albums , when putting the work open access did not harm the current sales of goods. The authors of the Death Machine clearly understood this. They explained why an anthology of science fiction stories about people who know how they will die (but don’t know when) was made available online on CC BY-NC-ND :

Why do we do this? Are we not worried that it will hurt the sales of this book?

In a word: no. You have proven over and over again that you are willing to pay for content that you find valuable. You have shown that you are ready to share the material you have fallen in love with. And we strive to ensure that you can get acquainted with our work, regardless of whether you have the opportunity to buy a book or not; regardless of whether you live in a country where Amazon delivers or not; regardless of whether there is room in your life for a pile of paper or not.

In addition, some individual stories are released under the license CC BY-NC-SA which allows you to translate and adapt a work as long as you comply with the non-commercial condition and release derivative works under the same license. Also podcasts are being created for all the stories, at the moment three texts are already ready ( thanks for the help in translating YasonBy and al_one ).
