The transition of Node.js under the wing of Joyent, the release of versions v0.2.5 and v0.3.1

In recent months, it has become clear that the growing popularity of Node requires a larger and better organized development team. Indeed, in order for Node to become more popular, and possibly to become the next PHP, an investment in a full-time development team is required. We need a company that supports them and allows them to build relationships with large companies that can use Node in their projects and contribute to the project.

The core business of Joyent (cloud computing) is fully in keeping with the spirit of the free and open Node. For these reasons, I entered into an agreement with Joyent for the official support of Node.js. The only change that will affect the developers - CLA will not sign with me, but with Joyent. Node will continue to be regularly released under the MIT license. As part of the agreement - in addition to supporting my development - we hired Isaac Schlueter and plan to expand the team by one more person in the near future. Soon we will start renting our minimalistic no.de instances (hosting with Node support) and develop custom-made various modules and add-ons for Node.
