Moving ICQ servers

Many users of unofficial ICQ clients cannot get online using the ICQ protocol. The reason for this is incorrectly set up the connection server. There are changes of DNS servers and many of them are unavailable or blocked.

This bug has been fixed for Adium in the new version . Users of R & Q, Miranda IM, Pidgin (new version) and many other alternative clients could also face such a problem.

The solution is to install the login server " login.icq.com ". If this does not help, then " 64.12.202.116 ". Also replace the connection server in the settings:
slogin.oscar.aol.com at slogin.icq.com
ars.oscar.aol.com on ars.icq.com
And the best way to disable SSL.

In the near future, new problems are expected for alternative customers due to the relocation of servers to Moscow, closer to Mail.Ru Group, and minor protocol changes. Also, some versions of Adium will have problems.
