Digest 6 interesting concepts and ideas of the past week

Probably, this post would be more appropriate to post a “design” blog. However, it is here, as it seems to me, that it will be more organic - after all, it’s about concepts and things more like illustrations from science fiction films.

So, people who follow the news in the world of industrial and conceptual design, I know well that ideas and concepts appear almost ten times a day. Not to say that they are all like a selection - fascinating and interesting. But the fact that among them come true pearls is no secret to anyone.

On duty (I keep a blog on industrial design) I have to write about concepts every day. Simply reprinting links here would be wrong and uninteresting. Therefore, today I will write a small digest of the most interesting design topics or successful technical solutions of the past week. If you like, I promise to periodically repeat this venture.

1. Wireless sync camera and iPad

The guys from Fstoppers.com offered to use a bundle of Wi-Fi SD cards, a pocket router and a special program on the iPad for instant synchronization between the camera and the tablet. The delay is only 2-3 seconds. Of course, there is also a minus - the tablet shakes itself only jpg'gi. But they can immediately post to the Internet. In general, a dream for an online journalist.

2. Bike radio

As bikes are increasingly used as a city vehicle, the issue of convenience, safety and accessories is becoming ever more acute. Airbags have already been invented, and now South Korean designer Won Chan Lee has suggested using a special mp3 player with speakers for traveling to music.

3. Sudan Water Towers

According to the UN, there are about 340 million people in Africa who lack access to drinking water. For example, in Sudan (Darfur province), where only 2% of land is suitable for farming, conflicts periodically arise over the right to own land, water and oil resources.

Interestingly, in 2007, scientists found a huge lake near Darfur, comparable in size to Lake Baikal. Polish designer Gougon Kowalski proposes to build special water towers in Sudan that will allow everyone to get, clean and water them.

4. Economical tube

Everything is simple - the Chinese designer GUO Lili proposes to make a perforation on the back of a tube of toothpaste, and thereby save its consumption.

5. Washing machine with two drums

image

There is nothing extraordinary here either - Chinese designer Yun Hun Wu (hussars, be silent!) Proposes to build another drum in the washer door for the isolated washing of things that require delicate handling. Interestingly, the modes of operation of both drums can be different, it is also possible to combine two wash cycles simultaneously.

6. Performance Nail - Electronic Grave

Since some of us already live in the network for a long time, it is proposed to make the tombstone electronic. According to Asian designers, the modern tombstone should contain a drive with entries from the blogs of the deceased, a history of activity on social networks, as well as photos and video clips uploaded to the deceased.

All this will be powered by electric panels, and communication with relatives' mobile phones will be carried out via Bluetooth channel. It is interesting that not anyone will have access to the records, but only those who have a special cross, which acts as a kind of access key.
