Google fired employee for leakage of information about salary increases

Google has decided to dismiss an employee who told about the 10% salary increase and additional bonuses from January 1, 2011. Yesterday the publication Business Insider published a letter from Eric Schmidt , sent to all employees of the company.

According to CNN Money, within a few hours after the information was leaked through the internal mail, another letter was circulated stating that the employee responsible for the leak was found and fired.

Officially, Google does not confirm the fact of dismissal.

The topic of the Google salary increase yesterday caused widespread discussion in the business environment. Analysts felt that the salary increase in 2011 would cost a rather large amount of $ 400 million.

A salary increase is “an important measure for the company's future,” a special Google statement said. This is necessary to stop the brain drain on Facebook. Over the past few weeks, Google was abandoned by co-founder and chief executive of Youtube, Chad Hurley, and the creator of Google Maps and Google Wave, Lars Rasmussen.

Now there are about 25,000 people on Google, and just over 2000 on Facebook. Of those 1900 Facebook employees who have CVs on LinkedIn, 300 people (that is, about 15%) are formerly employers. Moreover, people from Google often get promoted on Facebook. For example, Bret Taylor (Bret Taylor), a former Google Product Manager, became CTO when switching to Facebook. And the former Google Sales Director Sheryl Sandberg is now COO and the No. 2 man on Facebook after Zuckerberg himself.
