Today, the
beta version of Opera Mobile browser (not to be confused with Opera Mini) for Android has been
released quietly, peacefully, without too much pathos.
The claimed functions are much more extensive than the mini version, although they will not surprise Opera Mobile users for other platforms:
- Full surf
- Support multi-touch and smooth scaling
- Support for speeding up loading pages using Opera Turbo
- Synchronize bookmarks with a browser on a computer
- Geolocation support
- SVG support
The browser is available for download through the website
m.opera.com or through the Android Market.
Keep in mind that for installation this browser requires about 20 megabytes (!) Of memory, which is somewhat less than the monster from Mozilla but still a bit too much. Well, on my Hero, the new Opera works very slowly, even more slowly than the native browser, not to mention Opera Mini.
Nevertheless, it remains only to welcome another alternative in the segment of browsers for Android.
