Computer? This we have already passed and no one is interested.
A simple Canadian guy,
Jonathan M. Guberman, presented the mind with a good old typewriter. And while she remained herself.
So,
Automatypewriter is a typewriter (the posting from which it reaches for the computer), which understands what is printed on it and is able to respond the same.
Input
This part involved the experience of a fellow fellow Jack Zylkin with a
USB Typewriter project. The rocker arms of the keys close the controller on the corresponding key contact. The controller at this stage is cleverly installed to solve the problem with a large number of wires.

And through the Arduino information goes to the computer.

Conclusion
Resolved on the forehead. Solenoids pull the line tied to the rocker keys.
Computer> Arduino> shift registers> MOSFETs> solenoids> key rocker.

Software
Arduino software basically translates characters into control signals and vice versa.
The computer is running a Python script for Arduino and a Perl
Rezrov interpreter written by Michael Edmonson.
Automatypewriter
The result was the brightest representative of retro-futurism. At the same time fully capable.
It is important that the internal parts of the machine with these modifications do not suffer and it itself retains the original functionality.
The project is still in development so that all the fun lies ahead.
