Firefox 3: Browser as an information broker

Alex Faaborg (Alex Faaborg, one of the Mozilla developers), said that future browsers are destined to become a kind of information brokers who collect and transmit semantically tagged information to third-party applications (both web-based and hosted on your computer). This principle may be implemented already in Firefox 3.



This task is planned to be accomplished, among other things, by further introducing support for microformats.
