Yesterday, the director of the subscriber equipment marketing department, Andrei Chukaev MTS,
shared the company's
plans to start selling Android smartphones at 6000 rubles in November. With such a price, they will become the cheapest Android smartphones on the Russian market.

According to Chukaev, the phones are made by a Chinese company ZTE with a Qualcomm chip, 3.5 ”diagonal, resolution 320 x 240 pixels, camera 3.2 MP, 2GB SD card included.
A small study
showed that there seemed to be only four Android smartphones in the arsenal of ZTE: ZTE Smooth, ZTE Blade, ZTE Mercury and ZTE Racer. Of these, under the above characteristics do not fit any.
')
The entry-level model is ZTE Racer. It corresponds to the declared characteristics (320 x 240 pixels, 3.2 MP camera, Qualcomm processor), but its screen is 2.8 ". Perhaps, the MTS management confused something and brought such devices to Russia?

If so, then we add that ZTE Racer works on the Android 2.1 platform, also supports 3G, WiFi (b / g) and Bluetooth 2.0.
With a 3.5 "display, there is only ZTE Blade, but it is more expensive and has a screen resolution of 480 x 800.
If the MTS representative is not mistaken, then ZTE will release something new for the Russian market. For example, it can adapt some of its other smartphones to Android.
Selling Chinese smartphones at a low price is a normal practice for telecom operators who work in a cheap segment. For example, in the UK, the Three operator
sells ZTE Racer for £ 100 without a contract (but be sure to buy another case for £ 10). Or give free with a contract of 15 pounds per month.
What are the additional conditions when buying a smartphone in the MTS (whether there will be a special tariff plan, etc.) - not reported.
