DST changes name to Mail.Ru Group

Holding Digital Sky Technologies (DST), which owns half of the most visited sites Runet, including Mail.ru and "Classmates", today announced the change of name .

From now on, DST will be referred to as Mail.ru Group. Thus, the name reflects the largest and most profitable asset of the holding. Officially, the name change is explained by the “operational vector of the company's further development”.

As you know, the holding is going to hold an IPO on the London Stock Exchange in the near future. A clearer name will be an advantage and will make it easier to attract the attention of potential investors.

By the way, yesterday a large article was published in Forbes about Yuri Milner and the history of DST. They say that exactly in the IPO will not take part foreign assets of DST Global, that is, they own 10% shares of Facebook, Zynga and Groupon. Thus, the change of name for the Russian part of the assets looks quite logical. And the foreign fund will keep its name DST Global.
