Today,
HTC has introduced two new Android smartphones,
HTC Desire HD and
HTC Desire Z , at a launch event at the Redhook bar in London.
HTC Desire HD is a new multimedia flagship of the company:
4.3 "WVGA SLCD display,
8 MPx camera, and support for
Dolby Mobile + SRS surround sound systems makes the Desire HD a true multimedia monster. The special feature of the phone is the unibody-aluminum case.

HTC Desire HD is based on the second-generation SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon
MSM8255 , which was created using 45nm tech-process, which will significantly reduce the power consumption of the smartphone. Also MSM8255 boasts an updated
Andreno 205 GPU and support for
HSPA + networks.
Available Desire HD 1.5GB of internal memory (
ROM ), 768MB
RAM , support for microSD expansion
cards ,
HDMI output, as well as many other goodies.
HTC Desire Z is the first mainstream Android phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. Desire Z is based on the new Qualcomm
MSM7230 platform, which replaced the outdated MSM7201. The heart of the MSM7230 is the
Qualcomm Scorpion ARMv7 processor core (fear Cortex!) With a frequency of 800 MHz.
The device has a
3.7 "SLCD display with WVGA-resolution (480x800), 1.5GB
ROM , 512MB
RAM and an updated
Adreno 205 graphics core. MSM7230 is made using 45nm technical process, which will positively affect the power consumption of the smartphone. Also Desize Z will
get an improved
5 MPx camera module with LED flash. The camera version of the Desire Z phone was introduced earlier for the T-Mobile operator. Well, it's a worthy change for the old G1!
Both new products are running Android 2.2 Froyo, support
720p video recording, the
htcsense.com service, and the new
HTC Fast Boot technology. HTC Fast Boot is designed to give the opportunity to use certain functions of the smartphone even before its full inclusion.
The appearance of devices in the Russian Federation is expected in the second half of October.
