In Ubuntu 10.10, deb packages will open in the Application Center by default.

Canonical makes another small but significant change in Ubuntu 10.10. Downloaded DEB packages will no longer open using GDebi by default, but instead the package will open using the Ubuntu App Center!

This is a huge advancement in Canonical detail. The Application Center really gets a lot of attention, and that's good.
