Arabs are relatively lucky: they have only 28 letters - even less than in Russian. Each letter can be assigned a separate key, and more remain free. But with their writing there are some difficulties unknown to the Chinese.
Positional forms of letters. Arabs write in cursive italics, so the same letter can change shape depending on the position in the word. Roughly speaking, at the end of the word the letter will have a “tail”, in the middle - a “connection”, etc. For example, the letter ع, when it is at the end of a word, looks like ـع, when at the beginning - عـ, when in the middle - ـع The “core” of this letter is a C-shaped “horseshoe”, to which a stroke can be added to the left and down at the end of the word, and a connection with the previous letter can be added, forming a loop.
