Activate Wi-Fi n, 802.11n on cards with Atheros AR9xxx chips
While waiting for the Asus Eee PC T101MT laptop to come to me, I was digging forums and found an interesting thing about Atheros. Due to the lack of certification of the 802.11n standard in Russia, many laptops with Wi-Fi based on Atheros 9xxx chips come with blocked support for the n-standard.
There are several ways to activate it:
Flashing the EEPROM (the most reliable method, but there is a small risk of spoiling the card)
Installing patched drivers (less reliable method, but without the risk of spoiling the card. Also useful in case of failure during firmware)
