For a long time already on Habré there was no news about electric vehicles and everything connected with them. Well, just the other day, Hyundai Motor introduced the electric car, which was created not for beauty, so to speak, but for the market. I mean, the company hopes for massive sales of its electric car, and is going to earn some money. Interestingly, Hyundai Motor previously did not produce electric cars, but now the company management has come to the conclusion that without this, it will not be possible to move further in the automotive industry.
So, yesterday Hyundai Motor showed its electric car, called BlueOn. The announcement was carried out with some pomp - the President of South Korea sat down at the wheel of the car.
')
The technical capabilities of BlueOn are quite decent - this car can accelerate up to 130 kilometers per hour, and on a single battery charge it can travel 140 kilometers. Of course, this is not a car from Tesla Motors that can do almost five hundred kilometers, but for urban conditions it is quite enough.
This car uses the technology of generating third-party noise so that pedestrians can hear the approaching car. The sound generation system is called the Virtual Engine Sound System. Somewhat earlier, similar systems began to appear in models of some Japanese auto industry.
It should be noted that about $ 34 million was spent on the development of this car, which is quite a lot. Previously, Hyundai has already shown the concept of an electric car i10, on the basis of which BlueOn was created.
Unfortunately, while the car is not on sale - its mass production will begin only by the end of 2012. Until then, the first batch of electric cars, the number of 2.5 thousand copies, will be launched. Hyundai is a very large automaker, so more and more car industry “whales” are adding electric vehicles to the list of vehicles produced. Well, it’s very similar to the fact that electric vehicles with electric filling stations will soon appear in the CIS. Probably, five years late, as always, but they will appear. We wait.
