since February 2010, the .ru domain ranks first in terms of unwanted content registered on it, overtaking domains such as .com, .net, .cn (China), and .info. Thus, according to research, a typical spam message is sent from a computer physically located in the USA, India or Brazil, has a URL address on the .ru domain, and its hosting is located in China. The geography of spam mailing sources is as follows: USA (9.7%), Brazil (8.4%), India (8.1%), Russia (5.3%), Vietnam (4.6%).
