BeamAtic Premium headlights allow you to use the high beam all night long
It seems Japan’s highways may soon become a little brighter - at least if these new BeamAtic Premium headlights from Ichikoh Industries come into vogue. Designed by France's Valeo SA, the headlights use an on-board camera and image processing software to track approaching vehicles and some headlights that can block the light in such a way that it does not disturb other drivers. The idea is that you can just leave your high beam on all the time without worrying about blinding someone. Not a word about when they will be released, but apparently you can get them in Japan next month, besides the company is reportedly trying to negotiate with some Japanese manufacturers of cars about the provision of such headlights in factory configuration.
UPD.: In the first comments suggested that the same feature is already in the new 2011 Volkswagen Touareg.
