OpenSolaris Governing Council resigns
The governing board of OpenSolaris resigned . The decision on this was taken today at a meeting of board members.
The text of the decision notes that Oracle ignored requests for the appointment of a person to work with the governing board and circulated a letter about the closure of the OpenSolaris project. It was also noted that interest and enthusiasm for continuing the open development of the OpenSolaris code base has passed from the hands of Oracle and its community into the hands of other communities.
Simon Phips, a member of the governing board, writes that he is very upset by the decision he made and thanked the OpenSolaris team at Sun, in particular Alan Coopersmith and Jim Grisanzo.
