More recently, the newly created Sports Tracker service has moved from the testing stage to full operation. The project will make sports interesting, will allow you to save and analyze the results to achieve new heights. Under the cut - a brief overview of the service and the official video. A bit of history.
In 2007, Nokia launched a service to track workouts - Nokia Sports Tracker Beta . For its time, Nokia Sports Tracker was promoted functionally and even received an award at the World Mobile Congress. Hardly anyone would have thought that the project would die at the Beta stage. Despite the convenience and functionality of the service and the mobile application, the development went at a slow pace. The design has never changed and at the end of his life, he looked obviously outdated. In 2009, Nokia announced a complete cessation of development of the service, and on June 30, 2010, the project was closed. ')
However, the three founders of the service united, put together a team and founded Sports Tracking Technologies Ltd. A completely new site http://www.sports-tracker.com , a new application for smartphones running Symbian OS, was created. In the near future we plan to create a mobile application for the main mobile OS.
Walking through the main menu of the service I can say with confidence: we have received, if not the best, then exactly one of the most interesting services of a similar orientation. The project is incredibly functional and has a nice design of both the site and the mobile application.
Go to your profile, you can view the training diary and each workout separately.
The dark colors of the site look strange today, but everything is actually done beautifully. In addition, it is possible to personalize the service for yourself by selecting one of the proposed backgrounds or by uploading your own.
Use of the service.
Unfortunately, at this stage it is impossible to import an existing track into the service. To use, you must download the mobile application to your smartphone. A prerequisite is the presence of a GPS receiver in the device. This is logical, because the only way to get accurate data about location, speed and altitude. Starting it from the menu, you need to enter your username and password on the service, select the desired type of training (they are offered quite a lot, but you can add your type of sport) and you can start training. It is possible to pair the application with a cardiometer to obtain data on loads on the heart.
After the end of the training, the data about it will be uploaded to the server. Basic information about the track can be viewed directly from a mobile device, and extensive information on the service.
You can run and ride without a tracker, it is not a panacea. However, it is interesting and useful to have data on the work done, to try to achieve more and simply collect a base of routes. With the right approach, the service can become a personal pocket trainer.
Briefly and clearly about the capabilities of Sports Tracker described in the official video clip:
