As users Desire Vodafone hats poured

As you know, Android 2.2 for HTC Desire has been officially released recently. However, it was too early for some to rejoice. The owners of Vodafone devices did not see the update in the first couple of days. At the official forum, a branch began to grow - the general thesis “when there will be an update for our phones”.
Two or three days later, an update arrived, but as it turned out after its installation, it was not at all the long-awaited 2.2 (as everyone thought), but intermediate update for 2.1. Frankly - not the best time - the forum began to grumble.
After a couple of hours, the form exploded. It turned out that this update contained exclusively additional branding: the Vodafone logo on the download, several unpopular applications from Vodafone, which cannot be removed (and according to rumors, they also significantly slow down and eat off the battery) and several noticeable bugs , the browser homepage also changed and added “useful” bookmarks.

The people on the forum went into hysterics and wind themselves up. Vodafone was silent, that all infuriated even more. Directly on the official forum began to publish instructions on debranding.

After some time, the update was removed, but those who had time to upgrade were offered to wait for the bugfix by the sea, while it was about the bugfix - it was not planned to delete the branded applications.

The news about this epic Fail has spread through online publications.

A few more days passed, and yesterday Vodafone issued a formal decision:
1) They quickly roll out the upgrade to Android 2.2 based on the standard version, without branding.
2) A set of branded software will be offered separately, optionally and later.

That is, the public opinion of users forced the company to radically reconsider its plans.

This, of course, pleases. It is surprising that it took so much noise. After all, the decision taken under pressure from the very beginning was the most logical and beneficial, both for users and for the company (full win-win).
Well, the owners of the non-hardened Desire from Vodafone now have to wait 7 to 10 days.
