Google bought drones for filming

The German magazine Wirtschaftswoche (“Economy Week”) writes that the local company Microdrones has made the first delivery of unmanned vehicles of its own production to Google. Reportedly, miniature drones can operate fully automatically, circling the route using GPS coordinates and landing on their own at a given location.



The director of the company Microdrones in an interview with the magazine said that he hoped for a long-term cooperation with Google. According to him, drones are great for getting more up-to-date photographs of the terrain, which can be used in Google Earth and Google Maps.
