The court found that “Vkontakte” is obliged to moderate its service itself, remove counterfeit and pay VGTRK 1 million rubles for illegal placement of the films “The Island” and “Piranha Hunt”.
Following VGTRK with the social network Vkontakte, another legal owner decided to sue - Aram Gabrelyanov’s publishing house News Media Rus (Zhizn newspaper, Life News resources and Marker). Inspired by the decision of the court in the VGTRK case, News Media Rus filed a lawsuit for 100 thousand rubles on the basis of the unlawful use of its content, in particular video clips.
The lawsuit will be considered in mid-August by the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Case information can be tracked in the case file.

I remind you that the President of the Amedia Group of Companies, Russia's largest television and film producer, Alexander Akopov declared his willingness to personally sue the users and management of the V Kontakte social network, where you can watch and listen to pirated copies of movies and music albums.
While Akopov threatens and waves his fists, News Media Rus and VGTRK are already operating.
So the question is: when is “V Kontakte” overwhelmed with lawsuits and how much social network will last at such a pace?
