What it is probably everyone knows. If suddenly you missed this most interesting product, then you should read
www.apple.com/magictrackpadIt always seemed to me that Apple’s cursor-pointing devices aren’t working. All their mice that I tried were terrible including the last one. But the touchpad in MB / MBP seems to me very, very successful. I do not know about you, but for me it completely replaces the mouse on the laptop. It is clear that I was looking forward to the arrival of a separate touchpad / trackpad, and I waited :) The kind apple delivered this device to my doors 16 hours after the order.
Now about the main thing and immediately concluded:
This can really be used and it is convenient. Although everything is not so straightforward and obvious. And if the points, then I turned off the mouse and the last 3 hours I use only this t-pad. The right hand is already sore (brush) and is trying to adapt, while there is a feeling that the process of grinding is really real and final. I will give myself and I will fall to the end of the week, unless of course the hand falls off earlier. I hope to get used to it, because in this mouse substitute there is no doubt that there is something. Impressions of the large surface, clear but not too sensitive buttons, the most positive. By the way, the button seemed to me harder than on the MBP and it perfectly maintains the weight of the brush without false clicks.

Gestures work the same way as on notebook touchpads, i.e., well and correctly. The width of the surface is enough to run my 27 "screen from end to end without lifting a finger, that is, in one movement. The pointing accuracy is quite decent, the cursor behaves as expected and hits the target exactly
It is especially convenient to control the pad in geek and prof. programs, where there are a lot of keyboards, hot buttons and sometimes you need a mouse. The hand does not have to go far and always about the same place.
With all this honey that I poured, the impressions of use are still contradictory. This was not at all like on a laptop. It is difficult to explain why, but subjectively - this is something completely different. Although the magic trackpad did not cause me such hatred and rejection as a magic mouse, but there was no complete satisfaction either. I hope that this is a temporary phenomenon, but on the other hand, the aluminum bt keyboard at one time did not cause any dark thoughts and instantly fell on my fingers and on my fingers. With t-pad, alas, it is not.
The deciding factor for me will be whether I can get used to the new position of the right hand. There is nothing particularly unexpected and special. I recently got used to the Anywhere MX mouse and in a couple of days I got used to it completely. We give this novelty a chance, at least until the next release of radio t.
