At the Comic-Con 2010 exhibition that ended yesterday, Namco and Capcom officially announced two new fighting games - Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. As the name implies, these games will tie together the game worlds produced by Namco and Capcom, and, most likely, will not be limited to the existing heroes of Tekken and Street Fighter.
Street Fighter X Tekken is being developed by Yoshinori Ono, the project is based on Street Fighter 4 engine. But Tekken Harada is responsible for Tekken X Street Fighter. Both games will appear on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Capcom and Namco began to negotiate the development of data "hybrids" back in 2009, the year. Both companies have easily come to an agreement, however, they took up the development quite recently. It is known that the work on Street Fighter X Tekken has been going on for only three months, so the exit will take place, at best, in a couple of years. Tekken X Street Fighter, however, will have to wait even longer. ')
It's funny that the developers do not exchange with each other developments. The authors of Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter have no idea what exactly the competitors are working on, and even make bets whose game will receive the highest rating from Famitsu magazine.
It is also reported that Street Fighter X Tekken will be very similar to Street Fighter 4 - the developers will leave the same controls and combinations. However, in the novelty the bet is placed on 2x2 battles, where each player must choose two heroes, while the second character does not take an active part in the duel, but helps the “main” player to perform various tricks and combos.
But that is not all. According to Yoshinori Ono, fans get another game in the Street Fighter series called Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online. About her so far nothing is known - Ono-san reports only that the novelty will continue the ideas embodied in Street Fighter 2 Turbo. The release will also take place soon.
