To switch to another update channel, change the app.update.channel parameter to: release for releases, beta for beta versions, nightly for daily builds, or default to disable updates. The parameter is changed either by installing the Update Channel Selector extension, or by editing the file <installation directory> \ defaults \ pref \ channel-prefs.js

To disable compatibility check for add-ons in about: config, create a parameter extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0b of type boolean (boolean) and set its value to false
