Impressions of WCG Russia 2010

Today I managed to attend the second day of the All-Russian WCG final - the largest cybersport championship in Russia - and not just with the camera in hand. The second day, according to the organizers, is the most interesting and entertaining: all the preliminary matches have already been played, only the quarter-final, semi-final and final games are ahead - only the strongest players, the maximum intensity of the passions, the sea of ​​adrenalin.

Let me remind you that World Cyber ​​Games are the largest cybersport competitions in the world, which have been held since 2000 and are currently collecting millions of amateur and professional players. This year there were competitions in the following disciplines in the Russian final:

• PC: Warcraft III, Starcraft, Counter Strike, FIFA 10, TrackMania, Carom3D
• XBOX 360: Forza Motosport 3, Guitar Hero 5, Tekken 6
• MOBILE: Asphalt 5

In general, we must pay tribute to the organizers - WCG, despite all its official nature and reality (athletes fought for quite material prizes and, of course, the right to enter the international Grand Final in Los Angeles in September of this year), the WCG looked first of all as a holiday where there was a place for everyone - both professionals, and fans, and just interested, sometimes taking the joystick in hands in the long winter evenings.

The most intense were the battles in FIFA, StarCraft, WarCraft, Point Blank and CS, because it was on them that the finals were held on the second day and it was these disciplines that participated in the draw for the Grand Final.
